Frequently Asked Questions
Essential answers, without unnecessary jargon.
01 What is SaaS? +
A SaaS, or Software as a Service, is an online accessible software, typically through a web browser. Users connect to a centrally maintained and updated platform. A CRM, a customer portal, or an internal management tool can take this form.
02 When should we build a SaaS or custom tool? +
Customisation becomes relevant when existing tools impose too many workarounds, fragment data, or hinder a differentiating process. The diagnostic first checks if a market solution, better configured or connected, can suffice. Building is never an end in itself.
03 What types of platforms can Mellion design? +
Prospecting CRM, customer or partner portal, dashboard for management, operations tracking tool, approval workflow, smart knowledge base or connected business interface with multiple sources. The first version focuses on the journey that creates the most value.
04 How is the quote calculated? +
The quote takes into account the functional scope, the number and type of users, data and integrations, automations, security and hosting requirements, the timeline, and the skills to mobilize. Each position and option is detailed before the project starts.
05 How long does it take to launch the first version? +
This depends on the scope and technical dependencies. Mellion prefers a first increment that is reduced, usable, and testable, followed by cycles of improvement. The timeline is defined after scoping, with visible validation milestones.
06 Can you connect our existing tools? +
Yes, when their interfaces and access rights allow it. CRM, messaging, invoicing, files, databases, and APIs can be integrated. We verify data quality, technical limitations, and risks of dependency before choosing the architecture.
07 What role does AI play in your strategy? +
AI is used when it genuinely improves a task: analysis, research, classification, assisted writing, or signal detection. Rules, human validation, data confidentiality, and cost control remain priorities. Deterministic automation is sometimes more appropriate.
08 Who are Mellion's training programmes aimed at? +
The journeys are adapted to the starting level: students and apprentices, professional teams, management or confirmed technical professionals. The common foundation covers capabilities, limitations, costs, verification, and confidentiality, then workshops rely on representative cases of the organisation.
09 How is security addressed? +
At the scoping stage: data minimization, role management, protected secrets, input validation, controlled dependencies, useful logging, backups, and update strategy. The level of control is adapted to risks, data, and the regulatory context of the project.
10 What happens after the launch? +
The project does not end with delivery. Mellion prepares the documentation, access, incident tracking, and roadmap, and typically offers ongoing support tailored to the implemented technologies: monitoring, security updates, usage measurement, corrections, enhancements, and training. Internal team transfer remains possible at any time.
